I began blogging over two decades ago. Over the years, I deleted and pruned a lot of the things I wrote. But in November 2023, a technical glitch made me lose my old website and all its content without any way of recovering it. I thought I’d be devastated but surprisingly, I wasn’t.
My first thought was – “Well, so many things are ending, so the website might as well too.”
Endings are good sometimes, necessary even. It’s nice to have a clean slate to begin with anew. I’m looking forward to seeing what words I’ll type in this squeaky clean new space, how I’ll decorate it, and make it inviting for myself and whoever chooses to visit.
I know I have changed and I’ll write without thinking so much about the point of it. I will write like I used to as the naive twenty-year-old who first put fingers to keyboard to create a blog called Sempiternal Scribbles on BlogSpot.com.
I still love that name so I decided to revive it for my new Substack page. I envision it as a continuation of an email newsletter I used to write called Magic Mail. You can input your email below to receive emails from me that are like love letters full of inspiration.
I’m hoping to write and post a lot more this year, creating the worldofmehak, which is exactly what it sounds like – my world, online, a world fragrant with hope and magic and other beautiful things. It’s currently a messy mix of many things, like travel content and tarot readings and random musings. I’m hoping to streamline it all to form a cohesive whole, a world that can inspire and comfort and be worth spending time in.
If you’re reading this, I’m so grateful for you and I hope you’re also embarking on fresh starts of your own this year. Happy 2024, friend. May the year be kind and ever generous to you. 🙂
